Solidarity, coordination and action: what we need to fight COVID-19 and protect the economy The world is facing an extraordinary challenge from the outbreak of COVID-19. The pandemic poses a severe threat to the health and wellbeing of citizens and the global economy with harmful consequences for all parts of society.

AmChams in Europe, the umbrella organization for 45 AmChams from 43 countries across Europe and Eurasia, fully support governments’ efforts to tackle the pandemic and mitigate its effects. The mobilization of resources has been unprecedented, and we need continued leadership to address the impact of the crisis on society.

Annual Gala Dinner - 22nd of November 2018 at the Aurora Ballroom

AmCham Gibraltar is hosting its second annual Thanksgiving Charity Gala on Thursday 22nd of November at the Aurora Ballroom, Sunborn 5* Gibraltar and we are delighted to announce that our keynote speaker at the Gala will be Juan Verde.

Thanksgiving 2020

Dear Members and Friends,

On this Thanksgiving Day, when we are prompted to reflect on all for which we have to be thankful, I am reminded of this speech that I gave at our last Thanksgiving Gala. (attached).

In that speech, I spoke about how humanity, although far from perfect, has never been in such a good situation and therefore we should give thanks for that.

AmCham Gibraltar's first Thanksgiving Charity Gala Dinner on the 23rd of November brought together around 130 guests. Local leaders from some of the different sectors in Gibraltar including AmCham members, representatives from the Gibraltar Government and other local guests looking to enjoy good food, a good time, and above all; to support AmCham Gibraltar and GibSams (The Gibraltar branch of Samaritans UK).

Women History Month Competition

In honor of Women History month, The Gibraltar- American Chamber of Commerce together with GFSB-Women in Enterprise are delighted to announce a competition for kids between the ages of 8-12 and 13-18 years old and are invited to write a letter (100 words max) or do a drawing to congratulate Vice President Kamala Harris for being elected as the first woman Vice President of the United States of America. The letter or drawing should describe what inspires them.

All entries should be scanned and sent to info@amcham.gi and the deadline is the 15th of April. There will be a first prize for both age categories. The prize will be an Ipad and several shop vouchers. With special thanks to The Kishin Alwani Foundation and The Kusuma Trust for their kind sponsorship.

Independence Day 2020

Dear Members and Friends of AmCham, 

As we approach Independence Day 2020, we find ourselves in a very different world to the one we experienced only a year ago. We remember with gratitude the lovely gatherings that we had in the beautiful setting of the Alameda Gardens and we look forward to the time when we will be able to celebrate all good things together again.

Gibraltar Visit from American representatives of Sister Cities International

American representatives of Sister Cities International visited Gibraltar on Thursday the 19th of April for the first time in the association's 62 years history this week, in a bid to foster relationship between the countries.

The event hosted yesterday by the Gibraltar American Chamber of Commerce saw the representative's on a fact finding mission. Forging links between the University of Gibraltar and it's American counterparts were of particular interest and Jane Cahaly from Sister Cities noted, "I'm very excited at trying to get the University of Gibraltar to form links between universities in the US. I work in a consortium of 44 universities in the US and we do International programming so getting to know the folks here in Gibraltar is extremely valuable". Ms Cahaly is currently the Senior consultant for International Programmes with the consortium for Global Education that sees thousands of students participate in overseas study.

AmCham Thanksgiving Charity Gala Dinner

AmCham Gibraltar is currently finetuning the final arrangements for what promises to be the event of the year!

The AmCham Thanksgiving Charity Gala Dinner will be held on 23rd of November 2017 on Sunborn. The keynote speaker is US advertising Executive, Kevin Allen, (bio attached) and the three course traditional dinner will be followed by entertainment from the ever popular, Jetstream.

Proceeds will go to the recently launched Gibraltar Samaritans charity with the tickets priced at £100pp. Tickets can be bought in tables of 10 or individually, please contact us on info@amcham.gi to purchase.
